ONCE again this unlikely West Cork village has planned an outstanding programme of live jazz performance and complimentary fringe events over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
In its usual bid to book the best, the Ballydehob Jazz Festival has bagged the Neil Cowley Trio for this year’s headline slot on Sunday 5th May, Cowley’s only scheduled appearance in Republic of Ireland this spring.
THE wait is finally over and booking for this summer’s West Cork Chamber Music Festival opens on Tuesday 9th April.

An alumnus of Juilliard and Indiana University, he was a protégé of the legendary Jorge Bolet and has recorded two dozen CD’s with such orchestras as the Royal Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony, and the Czech National Symphony,
He is best known here for his “Living-Room Concerts”, held about 25 times a year in his the Beara home and has featured on RTÉ’s Nationwide.
THE Cairde Quartet will open West Cork Music’s Concert Series 2013 with a programme of works by Haydn, Mozart, Shostakovich, Beethoven and Piazzolla on Sunday, March 24th at 3pm in Bantry House.
It is four years since the Cairde Quartet first performed in Bantry House when they gave a lunchtime recital during the 2009 West Cork Chamber Music Festival.
CORK’S Live at the Marquee festival has been named as the Best Small Live Music Festival at the IMRO awards 2012 held in Dublin.
