CLONAKILTY’S Favour Exchange scheme will be officially launched at a special event at O’Donovan’s Hotel in the town on May 4th next.
Special guest of at the launch will be well-known economist and TV commentator Constantin Gurdgiev who will give a brief informal talk on the economics of sharing and the benefits of schemes like the Clonakilty Favour Exchange.
As part of the launch there will be a meet and greet in Clonakilty Market between 12pm and 2pm and Acapellabella will sing at 1pm.
Members and well-wishers are also welcome to attend at Richy’s Bar and Bistro for Tapas at 5pm.
The idea of the Favour Exchange is that members sign up on the basis of exchanging labour and expertise with the various members of the group on a credit basis.
No money changes hands and participation is entirely voluntary.
