JOHN Lonergan, the former governor of Mountjoy Prison will be the special guest at the opening of the new Skibbereen Community and Family Resource Centre on Thursday, May 3rd next.
The centre will be open to the public from the early afternoon to give people the chance to come and have a look at the facilities on offer.
The official opening takes place at the centre on Townshend Street at 6pm.
John Lonergan will speak in the Town Hall at 8pm and free tickets for the event are available from Thornhill’s Electrical (028 22557).
John Lonergan is both compassionate and very funny. This talk was the best entertainment so far this year. He gets my vote. I wish him the best of luck with prison and social reform. (For all our sakes)
