THE South West Regional Authority (SWRA) is assisting the development of competitive business clusters through a European project which will help job creation in the small and medium enterprise sector.
The SWRA is the lead partner in the project called ATC4Excellence (ATC4E).
SWRA Director John Forde said, “Developing more competitive cluster SMEs will facilitate job creation in the short term and also provides an opportunity for regional clusters to access information on further commercial ventures through the European cluster networks”.
There are four other ATC4E project partners, three from the Spanish regions of Cantabria, Galicia and Asturias and one from the North region of Portugal.
This project aims at further developing the efforts carried out by the European Cluster Excellence initiative and improving cluster management skills.
The initiative will pave the way for cluster development in the South West ensuring the balanced development of the region.

I feel our area would really benifit from this business cluster.
There is huge amount of businesses working way seperately and I know jobs could be created if we could get guidance on this new initiative ATC4
I would like to be kept informed on any developement in these clusters and hopefully be part of one
