Mizen Rovers Root 2 Crook 5 Mile Road Race

MIZEN Rovers host the “Root 2 Crook” five-mile road race from Goleen to Crookhaven, dubbed “the most scenic coastal run in Ireland” on Sunday, August 19th next.

The race is being held under an A.A.I. permit assisted by Ballycotton Running Promotions.

It gets underway at 4pm and registration on the day is in Goleen Community Sports Centre from 1.30pm – 3.30pm.

Fun run and walkers are welcome with a 3pm start.

There is a 2½ mile U16 race with a 3.30pm start.

Numerous prizeson offer as well as a cuppa, sandwiches and tasty bites and music and craic on the street later.

    As a master runner athlete i last ran this race in 2006 we ran from goleen to crookhaven at the prize giving runners that ran got no teeshirts they were thrown out on to the crowd and we were waiting to go back to goleen to change only for the kindness of a runner that did not run we be frozen or would run back it was also the last time id run it badly organised still owed teeshirts signed stephen murphy masters champion marathon runner
