CALLING all food lovers, as the Bantry Atlantic Challenge 2012 comes to an end it’s time to enjoy some tasty treats at the Bantry Bay Festival of Food.
Not only will there be plenty of good things to eat, there will also be a chance to witness some of your favourite food producers in action with a series of live cookery demonstrations.
The Mayor of Bantry Cllr Kathleen Tessyman will officially launch the festival at 11am on Sunday July 29th and the food demos will begin at 11.30am.
Henry Hegarty from Wokabout will show just how you can recreate his wonderful Thai-inspired recipes at home. Rachel Dare from Organico is going to prepare some wonderful salads, while Pat Kiely from O’Connor’s Seafood Restaurant will produce a meal to remember using locally-sourced ingredients.
New food producer, Caroline Crowley, from Seaside Kitchen will be cooking with seaweed to create her popular Carrageen Moss pudding.
Then, if you are still hungry, Benoit from Lorge Chocolates in Bonane will be showcasing his skill and producing some lovely petit fours.
There will be plenty to taste and enjoy.
The Bantry Bay Festival of Food in association with Bord Bia takes place in the harbour view car park in Bantry on July 29th from 11am to 5pm.
