24 hour event from Mizen Head to Malin Head

IRISH sporting heroes Marcus Horan and Gerry Duffy turned out to support the Coast to Coast, Mizen to Malin cyclists, as they trained for the big event, which will raise funds for cancer research at The Mercy Hospital Foundation, Cork.

 

The non stop cycle from Goleen, Mizen Head to Slievebawn, Malin Head in Co. Donegal will be undertaken by 5 brave cyclists. They will cover 637 kilometres, all in the space of 24 hours. [Read more...]

A NEW service for job-seekers has commenced in Macroom. The job-seekers resource centre is open on Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 10am until 12.30 in the pitch and putt clubhouse, Macroom.

 

The free services are provided by volunteers who have been trained to mentor and support job-seekers through the steps involved.

THE call has gone out to the MacCarthy clan for a very special gathering taking place in Dunmanway later this month.

 

Organised by the Dunmanway Historical Association, with the support of the UCC School of History, the MacCarthys of Cork Cultural and Historical weekend takes place in Dunmanway from Friday May 31 to Sunday June 2.

THE President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins will pay a special call to Courtmacsherry RNLI lifeboat station during an official visit to the West Cork village.

 

While there he will view an impressive historical exhibition which is running all through the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Walk the Seven Heads this May Bank Holiday
