Local company Folláin goes from strength to strength

FOLLÁINFolláin Traditional Irish Preserves started life in the kitchen of Peadar and Máirín O’Lionáird twenty nine years ago in Cúil Aodha, near Macroom in West Cork.

 

Married the year before in 1982, Máirín had been working with her friend Eithne Ui Shiadhail at a local honey processing company when they were made redundant.

Celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight in Ireland’s first Fairtrade town

Clon was Ireland’s first Fairtrade Town.

FAIRTRADE Fortnight continues until March 10th and in Clonakilty, Ireland’s first ever Fairtrade Town (which is this year celebrating 10 years since it received its status, and was nominated as “Ireland’s Best Fairtrade Town 2012″), the local committee has organised a number of events to mark the two weeks.

Fianna Fáil to hold CAP consultation meeting in Bantry

FIANNA Fáil will host a public meeting on CAP reform in Bantry next week, where farmers will be consulted about their views in advance of crucial negotiations on the policy.

 

The meeting will take place next Tuesday, January 29th at the Westlodge Hotel in Bantry at 8pm.

Irish Atlantic Sea Salt named West Cork Local Company of the Year 2012

IRISH Atlantic Sea Salt has been named as the overall winner of the West Cork Enterprise Board’s Local Company of the Year Award 2012.

 

The award ceremony which took place on Monday, November 12th in Glengarriff saw husband and wife team Michael and Aileen O’Neill presented with the West Cork Local Company of the Year award for their business success since 2010.
