Cork women attend Ireland’s first political campaign school

Cork participantsEMER O’Donovan from Whitegate and Liadh Ní Riada from the Muskerry Gaeltacht have attended Ireland’s first political campaign school EQUIP run by Women for Election in Athlone.

 

The national organisation provides training and support to women from all backgrounds interested in a career in politics. Women for Election brought 20 women from various political parties and backgrounds from across Ireland to complete the three day residential programme.

CORK ARC Cancer Support House are appealing for people in the West Cork towns of Kinsale, Skibbereen, Bantry & Macroom to support the cancer support charity at their annual Flag Day on Friday, April 19th and in Bandon on April 17th.

 

A large group of dedicated volunteers will be giving their time freely to allow Cork ARC to raise not only funds from these areas but increase awareness about the services it provides, as it celebrates its tenth year of free cancer support services in 2013.

A parent’s night was held on Tuesday 15th January at McEgan College regarding Cyber Bullying. This information session with Ms Theresa Piggott, a school Principal in Bantry who gives talk on this serious issue, provided very relevant details on how to deal with cyber bullying.
