THE Make Your Mark on Cancer Walk is set to take place at 10am on Sunday 14th July 2013.

The 22km event is in aid of The Mercy Hospital Foundation, Cork, will take place between the Viaduct Pub on the Bandon Road, Cork, and the Town Hall, Bandon.

Second tragedy strikes Innishannon

TRAGEDY has struck Innishannon for the second time in just two months following the death of a local man in a workplace accident in Sweden.

 

Twenty seven-year-old plumber Liam O’Mahony sustained severe injuries in a fall from a ladder on to a concrete slab while he was working in the Swedish capital Stockholm and died from his injuries. [Read more...]

WEST Cork TV star Graham Norton was visibly moved as he received an honorary doctorate from UCC recently in the presence of his proud mother Rhoda Walker and sister Paula Walker.

 

Graham was one of four people to receive the honour, the others being BBC journalist and author Fergal Keane; US District Court Judge Donald W. Molloy and Irish businessman Dermot O’Mahoney.

The west Cork TV presenter is one of four distinguished recipients along with journalist Fergal Keane, businessman Dermot O’Mahoney and US District Court JudgeDonald W Molloy.

BANDON Rebel Week 2013 will take place from October 14th-20th and will be a week-long celebration of “all things Bandon and Cork” with a specific focus on bringing international visitors and family home to Bandon to partake in a jam packed schedule of events.

Bandon has been selected as a host town for Cork Rebel Week and will host a 50-piece marching band during the inaugural festival.

ON Sunday, July 14th a fundraising Make Your Mark on Cancer walk takes place between the Viaduct on the Bandon road, Cork and Bandon.

 

The walk gets underway at 10am and buses kindly sponsored by McCarthy Coaches will leave Kellehers in Bandon at 9am.
