SONG writing legend Jimmy Crowley will share some of his secrets and tricks of the trade as he presents a key workshop at the 2013 West Cork Literary Festival in Bantry this July.

A central figure in the Irish folk scene since the enthusiastic reception of this debut album ‘The Boys of Fairhill’ in 1977, Jimmy has established himself not only as a tradition bearer, ethnographer and Gaelic language enthusiast, but most importantly as a stylish songwriter. Jimmy is also an experienced music tutor.

A regular at the famous Catskills workshop in America and also Augusta Irish Celtic Week, Jimmy is currently working on his fourteenth album.

Curtains close on All Ireland Confined Drama Finals in Rossmore

THE curtains were pulled on Saturday night on the very successful 61st All Ireland Confined Drama Finals in the theatre Rossmore after the insightful adjudicator Padraic McIntyre presented the results and awards to a jovial and packed theatre.

 

The colourful closing ceremony followed the final production by Galway’s Glenamaddy Players of ‘Moment’ by Irish playwright Deirdre Kinahan.
