FRIDAY is Market day in Clonakilty and I love nothing more when the weather is dry to go to the market before I start work.
Its my weekly ritual and my weekend just isn’t the same if I hadn’t a chance to go to get some fresh produce from the area.

Christian’s bites – A taste of America
Americans love to eat, So do I, but what is it what makes their food so tasty ?
First I need to clarify that I don’t like to use the word American, for me there is not such a thing than a American, other than the native Americans.
All the people I met on my week in the US, are people with European, South American, or Australian background and family history. The Taxi driver was Pakistani, the bartender Swiss, the barmaid Irish, etc, etc.

Christian’s bites – Fat Matt’s Rib Shack
Summer time is travel time, so here some inside tips from me, where you get great food while on the road.
I recently had the pleasure to be in the US for work, and where there is business, there is time for pleasure, at least a bit.
In Atlanta my friend Marco recommended a special place where they have the best Ribs and Chicken on the East Coast: Fat Matt’s Rib Shack.

Drifted away…
My friend Tina Pisco recently posted on facebook a advice that decluttering the house and cleaning it might be help against writers block. Adrift, Dunmore House
IT was a quiet Friday evening and Inchydoney beach was glowing in the sunset and I tried the new restaurant in town, the Adrift @ Dunmore House Hotel in Clonakilty.
The view over the beach is stunning, big wide windows afford great views as you to sit in the lobby, enjoying a drink before waiting to be seated for dinner at one of the stylishly decorated tables.

I hope you enjoyed being on the road with me for this little while. [Read more...]
Christian’s Bites – Slowman, Hamburg
One of the last few stops in this series brings me this time to the free and Hanseatic city of Hamburg, which is the second largest city in Germany.
Since I am native Austrian travelling to Germany is like visiting a cousin.
The language is a bit different, but with some discipline they understand me well and I have no trouble finding my way around in the city.
Christian’s Bites – Bewley’s Airport Hotel
THE third stop in my European food series is a stop I hadn’t considered including in the first place being so close to home, Dublin.
On many of my travels I end up passing through Dublin Airport, and often with flight times that are inconvenient.
So I prefer to drive up to Dublin the afternoon/evening to catch a flight in the early morning.
