Cork based Fine Gael Senator, Tim Lombard, has welcomed the latest round of additional accommodation and emergency works funding which has provisions for Our Lady of Mercy National School in Bantry.
“The School Building Unit has approved emergency works funding for a special needs project for the school, a critical investment in our educational infrastructure in Cork.
“These types of structural expansions are essential for the advance of the Government’s Action Plan for Education, which aims to make education and training services in Ireland the best in Europe.
“Ensuring all children, particularly those with special educational requirements, can receive a comprehensive and inclusive education will enable very person in Ireland to reach their potential.
“I am pleased to see our local schools being provided such funding. I hope every child Cork will receive a quality education that enables them to take advantage of the diverse opportunities available to them.”
