Cork Senator, Tim Lombard, is welcoming funding of €80,000 for Kinsale Regional Museum under the 2017 Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
“I am delighted that our local museum here in Kinsale will receive such substantial funding for what I understand is a renovation project.
“The museum is an important part of our local community; it houses many artefacts relating to Kinsale’s maritime, military and secular history, and it was also this building which held the inquest into the sinking of the RMS Lusitania.
“Such an important amenity needs to not only be maintained but developed into the future, and it is pleasing to see this recognised and financially supported.
“I want to thank the Cork County Council for their efforts and co-operation in engaging with the local community and businesses to identify and present this project for Town and Village Renewal funding.”
