Dunmanway knitter’s creation takes pride of place in Dublin’s GPO

THE knit and purl women from Dunmanway’s Knit & Natter Group were in Dublin’s GPO recently to unveil their handywork, a replica GPO, which is now part of the Christmas display in the main Public Office of Dublin’s busiest Post Office.

The 20 knitters invested weeks of wool and many woman-hours in completing the impressive replica which features the facade of Ireland’s best known public building and the birthplace of the state.
