Cork Surf Life Saving’s “Nippers” programme starts this Saturday in Dunmanway Swimming Pool

In an effort to keep our children healthy and active over the winter months and to reduce preventable drownings in our waters Cork Surf Life Saving’s exciting, fun and safe training programme for 7-14 year olds (NIPPERS) starts this Saturday November 19th at 4.30pm in Dunmanway Swimming Pool.

Beginners are welcome but to join Nippers your child needs to be able to swim 50m unaided (2 lengths of the pool) at his or her own pace!  Children will learn lots of new skills including how to swim with fins and rescue tubes, negotiate obstacles in the pool, dive, swim underwater and work as part of a team.  If you have your own long fins please bring them with you!

As well as learning new skills each child will have the opportunity to represent Cork County at Provincial and National Pool Championships in 2017 if they so wish.

Parental Assistance is crucial so if you are free to help out our Water Safety Volunteer Coaches in any way then please let us know and if you would like further information visit our facebook page or contact Justin Crowley on (086) 8915219.
