Christmas lights display charity box stolen in West Cork village

A Christmas Lights display at a home in a West Cork village was raising funds over the festive season for Cancer Connect a local service which transports cancer patients to their treatment at city hospitals in Cork.

However what turned out to be a nice gesture by the family that organised the Christmas lights display turned into disappointment as the Charity Box for Cancer Connect located outside the home near the village of Leap in West Cork was stolen.

Sergeant Ian O’Callaghan of Bandon Garda Station described the incident as a nasty crime.
