Residents of Dursey Island off the West Cork Coast were left angry over the weekend as their Cable Car was not in operation.
The Dursey Island Cable Car links the Island to the Main land but the operator was on a weekend off and Cork County Council never informed residents that the cable car would not be in operation.
Only for the Cable Car Operator letting some of the residents know, the residents would not have been prepared. The relief cable car operators were not working either.
The full time operator of the cable car says the Council had plenty notice that he would be off work last weekend.
Martin a resident of Dursey Island contacted Patricia Messinger on C103’s Cork Today show to voice his angry on why residents were left stranded especially if an emergency had taken place.
