An exciting Autumn/Winter lies ahead in Macroom

LEE Valley Enterprise Board is planning a programme packed full of entertainment at Riverside Park Hotel this Autumn/Winter with a lively mix of music, local talent, nostalgia, theatre & dance.

Any profits the Lee Valley Enterprise Board make from the shows listed below will go back into local projects, including the restoration of the Church of Ireland in Macroom to create a cultural & tourism amenity which will hugely benefit the area.

We will also be sending out email & text updates of upcoming shows on a regular basis this Autumn. If you would like to sign up for these alerts please email aidan@macroom.ie or call 087 1663395. Those who wish to participates will be entered into a draw where five lucky winners will win a pair of tickets to a show of their choice!

Mary Coughlan in Concert

Friday September 8th – Show starts at 8:00pm

Mary Coughlan has one of Ireland’s most distinctive voices. Come and see Mary perform hit after hit and marvel at how her voice effortlessly straddles jazz, blues, chanson and pop. A special, intimate night is in store.

Grease Lightning!

Fri October 6th, Sat October 7th at 8:00pm & Sun October 8th at 3:00pm

We are delighted to announce that auditions for the popular musical Grease will take place on August 20th at Riverside Park Hotel at 5:00pm.

All youths in the Lee Valley region are welcome to attend the auditions. This exciting Musical production will be directed by Margo Carlisle – Carlisle Stage School Cork. All enquiries can be forwarded to Ann Dunne at ann@macroom.ie.

Sir Henry’

Fri October 27th, Sat October 28th & Sun October 29th at 8:00pm

Sat November 4th & Sun November 5th at 8:00pm

The World Premiere of the New Musical “Sir Henry” will take place this October. Based on true events, this show tells the farcical story of the misadventures of Sir Henry Browne Hayes, the notorious play boy who sought to gain the hand of the young heiress Mary Pike as a sure cure to his financial woes by nefarious means. See how one man’s actions caused scandal throughout the British Empire in 1797, under the palpable tension of insurrection in Ireland and set against the backdrop of revolution in France and America. Written by the hugely talented Alan Kiely and Kevin Connolly and directed by the brilliant Cathal Mac Cabe (RTE), another hit is in store! Auditions will take place in late August, full info and date to be confirmed very shortly!!

Shawn Cuddy & Friends in Concert

Friday November 3rd – Show starts at 8:30pm

Known as one of the most hardworking in the business, Shawn and his band have been performing for over 25 years with numerous awards and hit singles to their name. Joining them on the night will be some special guests who will be announced very shortly!

“Walking back to Happiness” – 60’s and 70’s Music Show

Saturday November 11th – Show starts at 8:30pm

Walking Back To Happiness” looks back with great fondness, love, care and devotion to memorable hits from the 60’s and 70’s and beyond. You will want to sing along and stomp your feet and clap your hands in time with some great tunes like, ‘Downtown’ – ‘I Only Want to be With You’ – ‘These Boots are Made for Walking’ – ‘Puppet on a string’ – ‘River Deep Mountain high’ and ‘Goldfinger’.

Aonghus McAnally: Celebrating Christie Hennessy

Saturday November 18th – Show starts at 8:00pm

One of Ireland’s most beloved singer-songwriters, Christie Hennessy delighted audiences at home and abroad until his tragic and untimely death in 2007.

In this all-new show, celebrated entertainer Aonghus McAnally brings the Hennessy songbook to life with his uncanny recreation of his close friend Christie’s voice and guitar playing.

Ruaile Buaile

Saturday December 2nd – Show starts at 10:00pm

Bar service available throughout, over 18’s event.

We are delighted to welcome Ruaile Buaile back to Macroom this December after a powerful fast paced performance last Spring. This young Irish modern day Trad / Pop / Folk group from Offaly in the heart of Ireland. They have honed their craft during the course of a journey where their tour van has literally crisscrossed the country in every possible direction winning over audiences.
