Aer Lingus – the national airline

#OTD in1936 Aer Lingus, Ireland’s national airline was founded. The first service flew from Baldonnel Airfield near Dublin in May of that year to Whitchurch near Bristol in England, the first aircraft was a six-seater de Havilland Dragon biplane.
