Cork based Fine Gael Senator, Tim Lombard, has welcomed the latest round of additional accommodation and emergency works funding which has provisions for two local Cork schools.
“The School Building Unit has approved funding for additional accommodation works for two of our local schools; an important investment in the education of our children.
“Provisions have been made for 2 c/r ASD Units in Knockskeagh National School, Clonakilty, while Ballindee National School, Bandon has been allocated funding for 1 mainstream classroom with en-suite toilets, 1 WC for assisted users, and 1 15m² Special Education Teacher room.
“I am pleased to see our Cork schools provided such funding; these types of structural developments are crucial for the on-going maintenance and improvement of our educational facilities. This is a critical step in our Action Plan for Education, which aims to make our educational system one of the best in Europe.”
