West Cork T.D. says national media stirred up civil disobedience over water charges

Jim Daly

THIS morning West Cork T.D. Jim Daly was speaking on C103’s Cork Today show regarding the future funding of water and water charges in this country. It follows a committee meeting yesterday which Jim is a member.

In the conversation Jim blamed the media and singled out RTE who he said were advertising Water Protests like St Patrick’s Day parades and promoting civil disobedience.

It lead to a lot of anger from callers especially caller John who was one of the first people to protest against water charges which lead to a “Says No to Water Charges” group set up in Cork and then nationwide.
